Synology is testing the first hardware integration of Let’s Encrypt’s free SSL certificates

The Let’s Encrypt project, which just came out of beta, is one of the first real free ways to get a valid security certificate for your site without paying any money. Now, just a few weeks after it became generally available, Synology is about to become the first hardware manufacturer to integrate it into its platform. As part of the company’s DSM 6.0 beta, it’s added the ability to secure your NAS device with a Let’s Encrypt free security certificate rather than Synology’s own self-signed one.
