Uber to offer its UK drivers sick and injury pay


One of the most controversial facets of Uber’s business policy is how it classes its drivers. They aren’t employees, but rather self-employed contractors. This means they are ineligible for many of the things salaried workers take for granted – like sick pay, holiday pay, and the national minimum wage. In the UK, Uber is addressing some of this criticism with a new partnership with the Association of Independent Professionals & the Self-Employed (IPSE).
