We’re not buying (it) anymore: Why owning stuff is out


For years we’ve been sold an idea that, on the surface, seemed to make a lot of sense. The theory went that ownership is better than renting. Even though buying costs more, knowing we have something forever makes us feel like we’ve achieved something. This feeling was only boosted by the ongoing property debate, where the consensus leaned towards home ownership being the better investment. The problem with the theory?
