New exoskeleton stops elderly from falling over
Researchers at Scuola Sant’Anna in Italy and EPFL in Switzerland have developed a very unique type of exoskeleton: Instead of granting the user Iron Man-like super strength, their exoskeleton stops elderly people from falling over. This might sound like a somewhat trivial super power to grant, but the numbers beg to differ. According to the American National Council on Aging, “One-fourth of Americans aged 65+ falls each year.
