Facebook snuck past China’s firewall with a secret app – and nobody noticed


Facebook and its family of apps been banned in China for years, but it appears the company found a way to get past the countries Great Firewall. The New York Times reports Facebook snuck an app called ‘Colorful balloons’ through – without anybody noticing. The company went through some hoops to get it done too. Facebook approved the app’s back in May, and published it in China by using a local developer called Youge Internet Technology. There’s no indication that the app has anything to do with Facebook, other than the fact it looks very similar to Facebook’s Moments app.…
