The “Airbnb of Wi-Fi” looks sketchy as hell


Wi-Fi is an everyday essential utility, but public Wi-Fi hotspots can be few-and-far between, or cost a metric bum-load of money to use. So, why don’t people share their Wi-Fi hotspots through an app? I mean, it already happens with cars and homes (Uber and Airbnb respectively), why not Wi-Fi? That’s the premise of SiFi, and it’s not an entirely awful idea. The Wi-Fi hotspot market is expected to be worth $5.1 billion by 2025.
